Fresh Edits – Australia Landscapes

Starting in 2011 I took a 5 month journey through Australia and at the end of that 5 months took a 3 week break that ended up being a life changing sliding door for me. Fast forward two and a half years and now I find myself in Sumatra working on and donating my time to the worthy cause of endangered animals and humanitarian issues around Sumatra. I still have a mountain of unedited photos and videos from my time through Australia and I have managed to edit 6 more in recent weeks. I will continue the journey one day […]

The Blacksmith

I found myself with some time to spend while heading north to the Flinders Ranges I stopped in at Burra and really enjoyed the history in this town. While there I ventured through some of the historical museums and soaked up what it might have been like to live in this day and age. Certainly not easy from what I gathered of the history and hardship endured in this town and of the region. The only thing this image is missing is an old guy whacking on some multen metal, shaping someones tool or a hoof for a horse. Love […]

Coffin Bay

As part of my Eyre Peninsula visit I had to visit Coffin Bay. I mean the name alone intrigues me. So after my time spent in the Port Lincoln National Park I headed west to reach Coffin Bay on the south west side of the Eyre Peninsula. Coffin Bay is a small town and one of many named by the early British explorers in the 1800’s. There are certainly some intriguing names situated around the Eyre Peninsua and Coffin Bay is one among many, as well as the humorously named Avoid Bay, which I didn’t avoid by the way. Having […]

Bendigo

After reaching my goal of Lake Mungo I had no other immediate plans so I decided to head south towards Melbourne and visit some of the historical towns on the way. One town, well it’s really a city, is Bendigo. Lots of history surrounding Bendigo so I found some free camp sites on the outskirts and spent a few days exploring the city and found some beautiful places/buildings to photograph while there. I enjoyed what Bendigo had to offer. I rode the old tram line to the old gold mine of yesteryear but didn’t enter as the price was a […]

Streaky Bay

Streaky Bay is situated at the north west end of the Eyre Peninsula and is very close to the start of the Nullarbor. When I reached Streaky Bay it quickly occurred to me that this was a popular resting point for people who have just crossed the Nullarbor or are gathering supplies and energy to cross the Nullarbor. At first I was struck by the beauty of the area. I have seen a lot of nice bays but Streaky Bay is certainly one of the nicer ones. I decided to hang around for a few days and went about finding […]

Inside Mckenzie’s Beast

It sure is one of my favourite subjects from my Australia journey so far. All based on a chance finding at the Mckenzie’s Ruins of Denial Bay on the east end of the Nullarbor. I have quite a few angles taken of Mckenzie’s beast and will post them all over time. In the end decided on this angle to make the available print . This particular shot is a HDR of the inside and you can get a real sense of the age on this vehicle. From the torn and missing seat to the stick shift and the shattered dash instruments […]

A Creative Life!

Well if you didn’t know it I am about 1 week into a journey through the great wide land we call Australia. Why am i doing this? Well I have created some good opportunities for myself and worked hard in the process and now it is time to make these opportunities work out. Sure there is a high potential for these opportunities to crash and burn but darn it I will literally die trying. Besides what could be the worse case scenario? OK let’s not think about that… I have two main goals with this journey throughout Australia. The first […]
