The Logo Concepts
The initial concepts came through (see my earlier post for outsourcing the logo design) and there were a few not so good but a couple of ones that I did not mind. I soon realised the typo, and “time-lapse” needed to be hyphenated. I chose the second option here and asked for some adjustments.
The Finished Logo
After suggesting some changes to suit a more web style logo the final result is in (located to the right). Now it turned out that the camera in this logo concept is actually clip art. So when I realised this I wasn’t entirely happy. But when it comes down to it I did not stipulate “no clip art” in the brief, so this is my mistake and a lesson learned in outsourcing image creation. Bottom line is it saved me some time, time that I didn’t have to do this in the first place.
How I am deciding on my initial content
This keyword question tool is the first place I will find content in demand for my keywords. If I use the keyword “time lapse” you can see the most popular questions asked in the results below. So these are an indication of where I should start. There is not a huge result for this keyword so I have also drilled down into Nikon time lapse and Canon time lapse. This also helps me find the demand for knowledge on how to create time-lapse photography on specific DSLR cameras. Because I am a Nikon man and I already own a Nikon D90, I will use this as my first example tutorial/video/podcast. For future tips and tutorials on other DSLR cameras I found a great hire place only an hour down the road in Brisbane. The plan is to hire cameras on a weekend basis and spend a few days experimenting with them then reporting on the process I took to create great time-lapse sequences through written and visual tips.
Out of curiosity I wanted to check my rank tracking for my keywords on Market Samurai, and before I have even posted significant content I am already ranking for my top keywords after 4 days. That’s a good sign and helps motivate me to work harder on delivering content.
Coming up in the next post I will discuss my revenue strategy. Stay tuned right here.
