Daily Photo – Elephant Cries

Elephants cry as can be seen here and in the recent rescue in India. But no one knows for certain if elephants cry from emotions. We humans shed tears but for various reasons and sometimes it’s because our eyes are dirty and they naturally lubricate to allow the eye move around in the socket. This is the same for elephants and all land dwelling animals. I personally would love to associate emotions with an elephants tears as it helps convey the plight of elephants or raise awareness for a cause as seen in the link above. We naturally assume tears mean that for sure they are sad. After 50 years of being held captive I along with every body else would like to think that there were some emotions involved.
